Guest posting, sometimes known as guest blogging for advertising, means writing and posting an article on somebody else’s site ideally in your own niche with the objective of getting a wider readership, boosting search engine rankings, and of course, establishing yourself as an expert in his or her field. You cannot write a decent introduction unless you know something about what you are writing about. Perhaps you have some knowledge about the topic, but you might as well write a paragraph or two in which you outline the topic so that you do not get lost in the topic.

Now let us move on to some of the more important guidelines in getting a guest post approved. First, there are a few things that you should never do as a guest blogger. Never give information that you are not sure about. You may have some knowledge about the topic, but do not go into detail. Do not mention URLs in the body either, as this is considered spamming by many webmasters.

Second, you should always follow-up with your guest authors after they leave your blog. This shows them that you care about their thoughts and ideas. In this way, you show that you respect their business, not just yours. You should send them an follow-up email thanking them for their time and sharing some links to some of your blog posts that you may have written.

You want your domain to be relevant, to a point, but you do not want it to be too authoritative, otherwise you may get rejected from the blog sites that you are interested in. With good domain authority, you will stand out from your competition, which is very important to a lot of people.
